I'm just starting out but I consider myself highly technical and quite mechanical. I needed to replace the eyepieces that came with my department store 4.5" reflector to get the most out of my Christmas present. My intent is to buy equipment that I will use for all my future telescopes. I wear glasses so eye relief is an important consideration for me. This eyepiece will definately stay with me for a long while. The long eye relief is necessary for me but the large lenses and wide field of view make my observing significantly more enjoyable. Light transmission is well beyond anything that came with the scope with no artifacts that I've found yet. This was definately a worth while investment.
 Pros

31mm eye relief.  Significantly better than anything that comes with a department store scope.  Quite inexpensive.

 

Cons

A bit heavy.  It's challenging with the sloppy focusers that come in low-end telescopes.  Minor tuning of the focus assembly will cure that though.
