This is a fully multicoated multi-element double power barlow. I use it with a 25mm eyepiece and provides double power to all my eyepieces. It is like having twice the number of eyepieces.

As far as performance, I have never been able to see anything beyond the 310x, however at 150x or 200x, this barlow provides excellent views.
